Welcome to the OPCC(cic)

           Home Page

Welcome to the O.P.C.C (cic) Web page. For those that don’t know about us here's a brief summary. We are Osmaston Park Community Centre. Before the O.P.C.C. Group though there was

O.P.P.R.A. (Osmaston People’s Park Regeneration Association) this project was originally started by Paul Dickenson on his own, with many an idea and dream..... And later a few voluntary workers!

REGENERATION of the PARK started and then the group have continued to improve the facilities on the park for the last 9 years! With over 3 quarters of a million pounds being raised, the work began and a new park was born!

The new image park boasts a huge range of new features including,

a dog free fenced play area for junior/senior play with new play equipment,

Toddler play area also with new play equipment and picnic area also within a dog free fence, Extended ball courts creating two courts for football, basketball and netball.

Both a Junior and a senior play unit are within the network of footpaths/cycle ways, which is all brightly lit.

A wheeled sports area for activities such as BMX and skateboarding with a graffiti board (free to use!) Go on have a go...

Cycle racks (free to use!) are available in various places on the park.

Wild life area and community green.

The group was only set up for the regeneration of the park and after all was done people left OPPRA as they had done what they had set out to do.

Then Paul had another dream about a new community centre on the park. Which meant new volunteers and a new challenge. Then was born Osmaston Park Community Centre OPCC (cic). we are dedicated to the new Community Centre and the final step to a beautiful Park.

The Park has a lot of History and if you follow some of the links at the end of the web pages you’ll see, for instance did you know that the park was ones part of Osmaston Hall built in 1694, and owned by Wilmot , John Eardley - Chief Justice. And that Derby County football club was going to have their own Wembley stadium and that it was going to be built were Moorways now is. Check out the links at the end and see what you can find out.

Please Enjoy your stay.
